Then I saw this quilt made by Rita of Red Pepper Quilts on flikr and got inspired. I started pulling fabrics from my stash and came up with this. I had two 2-1/2" squares of the black fabric left from my fat quarter when I got done playing.
Without a doubt, this is the only kind of "Trip Around the World" that I'll be making in my retirement. I'm sure I'll make another quilt in this pattern -- I just don't plan to travel outside of the USA - there's too much here I haven't seen yet.
Love your fabrics. The black really does bring it all together.
ReplyDeletewhy is this without a doubt the only trip around the world you'll be making - now you got me wondering. . . .
ReplyDeleteLooks great! The Black really does pull it together.
ReplyDeleteYep, this time the black adds the punch!! Have you ever tried that grid fabric that you can fuse the patches on? It works great for a wall hanging but a bit stiff for a cuddle quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors, the black does add just a bit of a zip. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI really like your quilt, the fabrics are not ones I would have thought would go together but the black pulls them together. You should make another. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat trip around the world. I too want to know why this is the only TAW you'll do. And what version are you using?
