My February UFO Challenge quilt is complete -- with two days to spare. Thank you Judy for this challenge -- I surprised myself in finishing this one, in a short month at that! It was started years ago and was intended for my bed. Since then I had rose colored carpeting installed and made a quilt that would better blend with that. So this sat ignored for quite some time.
I'm so glad I was challenged to get back to it! It's wonderfully soft and gushy and I've managed one good nap under it already.
The basket squares are hand quilted, the rest of the quilting is done by machine. The white squares and white setting triangles, along with the border, are done using with machine embroidery designs from Embroidery Library.
The basket quilt took up almost all of my sewing time this month.
This little hexagon star was hand pieced and is the only other sewing I accomplished in February.
Now I can relax for a couple of days while I look forward to the March challenge!
Congrats on another project completed and beautiful. Love the quilt and Rutabaga ~ looks like squishy hugs.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice finish! I just love baskets!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful finish. Too bad it doesn't match your bedroom any more - maybe it's time to get new carpet again just to display such a treasure?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful basket quilt - wonderful work - Glad you are already using. Judy C
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful basket quilt - and with hand quilting, wow! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteA lovely basket quilt! Great idea to combine hand AND machine quilting...I'll have to keep that in mind for some of my other UFO's!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors! It makes me think of daffodils....c'mon spring. Great job!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! That is such a beautiful quilt. You did a great job! :o)
ReplyDeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet basket quilt. I'd love to snuggle up and take a nap under it too. Congratulations on a wonderful finish. I too am enjoying Judy Laquidera's UFO challenge and am glad to focus and finish up some of these projects that have collected dust too long. I'll be back to see how you are doing on your Kaffe quilt. I'd love to see photos as you progress on this. Jane
