Textures

I'm only an occasional player in this month's photo challenge, but today's subject sounded like fun so I decided to give it a whirl.  I thought about venturing outdoors for something interesting -- then I got lazy and dug around the kitchen for a photo.

Lots of textures here.

I also took this picture today.

A new visitor to my bird feeder.  He sat there shivering in the wind for quite awhile.  I don't know too much about birds, but this one almost looks like someone's pet -- or is it really a wild bird?  I need a bird book.
And it looks like I need to give my window and that bird feeder a good cleaning.  When I look at all the texture in this picture I realize I didn't really need to haul out the veggies.

  4. Yup. American goldfinch. We have lots of them year round. In the winter the male looks just like the female, kinda brown. This is a male in spring and summer. Christine
