What's is it about retirement?

Like many have done before, I poo-pooed the folks who said I wouldn't accomplish what I hoped to in retirement; but it's really no surprise that they were right.

In January, I joined up with Judy over at Patchwork Times to do another UFO Challenge this year.  It's June already and I haven't completed one project.  Last year -- when I was still working four days a week -- I completed all twelve monthly challenges along with a couple other quilts for good measure.

In May I got called back to work more than my current one day a week.  As soon as I started working more hours, I kicked it into gear and finished all 80 blocks from the January challenge.  Granted it still needs sashing, borders, quilting and binding -- but I'm pretty happy with my progress.  Made from mostly red and green fabrics, this will be my Christmas quilt.   I'm not promising what Christmas I'll have it completed -- but some year when you come for a Christmas visit, you may just find me snuggled up with this one.

  1. It's going to be gorgeous when completed! Are you planning on sashing with color? I'm excited for you!
