Some Photo Challenge Catch Up

I know I missed many more days than I captured this month, but when I saw Mindi add my name to the challenge list, I was guilted into pulling out my camera.

Day 25 - Weathered

I didn't have to look far for this one -- I spent part of today scraping my garage in preparation for a fresh coat of paint.  I think the last time it was painted was when Kevin was still at home.  I was a little upset when I came home from work and found he had painted the whole garage using only one gallon of paint.  Now that I'm sort of retired, I feel like I have the time to do it right.

Day 27 - Shallow depth of field

I hope this qualifies.

Day 28 - Strange

I had planned to take a picture of the actual sign for the 19th but that didn't happen.  I find it strange that the oldest concrete pavement in Michigan deserves a sign -- and even stranger that it ends up on a Jones Soda bottle.

Mother Nature - Day 23 May Photo Challenge

I look forward to crawling into bed tonight knowing that Mother Nature dried my sheets!

Sign - May Photo Challenge

Last week my sister and I took my mom to Green Bay to see the eye doctor there.  As we were heading into Crystal Falls, we passed this sign.  My first thought was "well isn't that nice".  Then I got a case of the giggles when it dawned on me that the sign wasn't aimed at the three of us.

Textures

I'm only an occasional player in this month's photo challenge, but today's subject sounded like fun so I decided to give it a whirl.  I thought about venturing outdoors for something interesting -- then I got lazy and dug around the kitchen for a photo.

Lots of textures here.

I also took this picture today.

A new visitor to my bird feeder.  He sat there shivering in the wind for quite awhile.  I don't know too much about birds, but this one almost looks like someone's pet -- or is it really a wild bird?  I need a bird book.
And it looks like I need to give my window and that bird feeder a good cleaning.  When I look at all the texture in this picture I realize I didn't really need to haul out the veggies.

Strangers

Mindi is having a May daily photo challenge.

I had no intention of attempting another photo challenge after almost failing the last one, but I decided I might pop in now and then.  When I went to take flowers to the cemetery today, I couldn't resist taking a picture of strangers at work.

It did make me feel like a creepy stalker, which reminded me -- for many years my brother called me "The Creep".  Actually he still does on occasion.

Random Challenge Photos

I never did get all the photos I would have liked to in April -- but here's the few I did capture.

Day 20 - Silhouette

I always love the view from my front porch when the sun is rising.

Day 21 - Eyes

that melt my heart.  And when he smiles and shares his dimples, I'm hooked!

Day 25 - My Neighborhood -- on a dreary day.

Day 28 - Nature

I had a chance to walk the nature trails at Kensington while I was downstate.

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon for a hike.

I thought I'd share of few nature shots to make up for all the days that I completely missed.

I enjoyed the photo challenge even though I faded away three weeks into April.  I know some used the challenge to learn how to use their cameras.  I guess I'll never get there -- I point and shoot and hope for the best.  It was definitely fun to see all the pictures posted although I didn't always take the time to comment.   Thanks to all who shared!
